Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer–songwriter and actress who was best known for her lead acting roles in Disney Channel's comedy series Bizaardvark and the 2019 Disney+ mockumentary series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. After signing to Geffen Records in 2020, she released her debut single drivers license on January 8, 2021 to unprecedented commercial and critical success. Billboard later declared the single one of the most dominant number-one songs in Hot 100 history.

SOUR is Olivia's debut studio album that was released on May 21, 2021. Written entirely by Rodrigo and her producer Dan Nigro, SOUR was originally planned as an EP. However, following the success of drivers license, it was expanded into a full–length album.

Upon release, SOUR received universal acclaim from critics and various publications listed it among the best albums of 2021. At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, SOUR and drivers license won Best Pop Vocal Album and Pop Solo Performance, respectively, while Olivia won Best New Artist as well.

To support the album, Olivia embarked on the SOUR Tour from April 5, 2022 to July 7 of that year.
