Olivia Rodrigo Becomes Youngest Artist to Debut Three No. 1 Hits on Songs Chart

Olivia Rodrigo returns to the top of the charts with her new piano–centric ballad vampire – which tells off a certain “bloodsucker” – occupying the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100.

With vampire, the 20–year–old becomes the youngest artist in the chart’s history to post three No. 1 singles. It also makes her the first artist to have ever to debuted lead singles from her first and second albums at No. 1.

vampire is the lead single from the pop artist’s incoming sophomore album GUTS (due out Sept. 8) and serves as the follow–up to her 2021 debut album “Sour,” which scored Rodrigo her first two No. 1 singles: “Drivers License,” which ruled for eight weeks, and “Good 4 u,” which led the list in its first week out.

Released on June 30 via Geffen/Interscope Records, vampire drew nearly 36 million streams, 26 million radio airplay audience impressions and sold 26,000 in the first frame, according to data by Luminate. These numbers represent the biggest debut week of Rodrigo’s career across multiple platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and radio.

The new single was simultaneously released with a Petra Collins–directed visual during a live YouTube premiere in Los Angeles on June 29. The video amassed over 12.9 million views in its first 24 hours on the platform.

SOUR collaborator Dan Nigro worked on the track, which according to Rodrigo is about “feeling confused and hurt,” and is also producing GUTS, a project that is set to tackle the “growing pains” the young star has experienced since launching into her career.

vampire replaces Morgan Wallen’s country–pop single “Last Night,” which led the Hot 100 for 13 non–consecutive weeks following its mid–March debut. Rodrigo’s 36 million on–demand streams outpaced Wallen’s 30 million but “Last Night” still drew the larger crowd on radio, logging 74.5 million in radio reach in the last tracking week.

Vampire Debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Olivia Rodrigo makes a show–stopping and yet unsurprising return to the Billboard charts, marking her comeback in an immensely successful manner that befits her previous achievements in the music industry.

The pop singer’s latest single Vampire debuts at No. 1 on this week’s Hot 100 chart. Compiled by Billboard, the weekly tally ranks the most–consumed songs in the United States. The chart will refresh on July 11, and at that moment, Rodrigo will replace Morgan Wallen at the top spot. Wallen’s single, “Last Night,” has enjoyed a strong run since its release in mid–March, occupying the No. 1 position for an impressive 13 non–consecutive weeks.

Vampire proved to be an instant monster hit from the moment of its release, excelling across various metrics that contribute to the Hot 100. The song sold 26,000 copies, garnered 35.5 million streams, and reached 26.3 million people through radio airplay in just the first seven days it was available, as reported by Billboard.

With Vampire, Rodrigo now secures her third career No. 1 on the Hot 100. Her debut single, “Drivers License,” made an extraordinary entrance to the chart’s summit in January 2021, making her the first artist to debut their debut song at No. 1.

A few months later, prior to the release of her debut album SOUR, Rodrigo’s follow–up single good 4 u also debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. This accomplishment solidified Rodrigo’s status as one of the few artists who have attained multiple instant chart–toppers. And now, with the debut of Vampire at No. 1, Rodrigo has added yet another milestone to her repertoire. She joins the ranks of Mariah Carey and Travis Scott and ties for the sixth–most No. 1 debuts in the chart’s history.

Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘SOUR’ takes back Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart

SOUR by Olivia Rodrigo claims Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart once more.

The most-streamed album of the week, SOUR knocks Ed Sheeran’s Equals back down to Number 2, though Equals is the most physically purchased and most downloaded album of the week in Ireland.

Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits climbs two this week, landing at Number 3.

Further down, on the week of the release of (most of) Donda 2, Ye – AKA Kanye West – sees two of his previous albums fly into this week’s Top 50, 2007’s Graduation (35) and 2021’s Donda (45).

Other albums making a return to the Top 50 are Dave’s Psychodrama (40), Michael Jackson’s Number Ones (42), When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? by Billie Eilish (48), and Oasis best-of Time Flies: 1994-2009 (50).

‘good 4 u’ Holds at #1 on Rolling Stone Charts

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” spent a seventh week at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart with 24.3 million streams. The Sour cut debuted at Number Two behind J. Cole‘s “My.Life” back in May. “Good 4 U” rose to the top of the chart the following week and has not relinquished that position. Sour also spent another week at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 200 Albums chart, and nine of the set’s individual tracks remain on the RS 100.

‘Sour’ beats Queen’s Greatest Hits to #1 on Official UK Albums Chart

Sour by Olivia Rodrigo scores a fourth week at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, narrowly fending off Queen’s Greatest Hits collection.

Sour – the UK’s biggest album of 2021 so far – finishes the week just 270 chart sales ahead of Queen’s Greatest Hits, extending Olivia’s reign as the only artist to spend more than a week at Number 1 this year on the Official Albums Chart.

‘good 4 u’ Breaks Rolling Stone Record With 6th Straight Week at #1

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” tops the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs Chart for a sixth straight week, surpassing Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B (“WAP”) and Mariah Carey (“All I Want For Christmas Is You”) as the female artist with the most consecutive weeks at Number One.

“Good 4 U,” Rodrigo’s second Number One hit on the RS 100, pulled in 212,000 units in its sixth week, about 40,000 units ahead of BTS’s “Butter,” which spends a sixth straight week at Number Two.

RS Charts: ‘Good 4 U’ Continues Reign at Number One

Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U” spent a fifth week at Number One on the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs chart. After debuting at Number Two behind J. Cole, “Good 4 U” — which alternates between bass-heavy swagger and full-throttle pop-punk — climbed to the top of the chart, and it has stayed there ever since. Each week, the single’s streams have fallen: While it hit Number One with 57.4 million streams five weeks ago, “Good 4 U” pulled in 28.2 million last week. But despite the gradual decline, it has still maintained a healthy lead over the competition. BTS’ “Butter” stayed at Number Two on the latest chart, earning more downloads than any other track.

With five weeks at Number One on the RS 100, “Good 4 U” has now matched the chart-topping run of Rodrigo’s previous single, “Drivers License.” In addition, all 11 songs from Sour, Rodrigo’s debut album, are still on the RS 100.

‘Sour’ Returns to No. 1 on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a second total week, as the album steps 3-1 in its fifth week on the list. It earned 105,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending June 24 (down 14%), according to MRC Data. The album debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated June 5.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new July 3, 2021-dated chart (where Sour returns to No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard’s website on June 29. Sour is the second album in 2021 to earn in excess of 100,000 units in each of its first five weeks, following Dangerous: The Double Album, which also collected 100,000-plus weeks in its first five frames (charts dated Jan. 23 – Feb. 20). (It’s worth noting that Dangerous had 30 tracks aiding its SEA and TEA units, while Sour only has 11.)

Olivia Rodrigo reclaims the Official Chart double as SOUR returns to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart for a third week, and good 4 u extends its reign at the top of the Official Singles Chart to five weeks.

good 4 u notched up 73,000 chart sales – including 8.8 million streams – to claim a fifth week at the summit. It makes the track the longest-reigning rock-influenced Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart in 25 years, since British band Babylon Zoo’s Spaceman in 1996.

Meanwhile, SOUR continues to be a powerhouse on streaming, with 91% of its chart sales this week coming from streams.

Olivia Rodrigo makes it five consecutive weeks at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with SOUR. The last artist to spend five or more weeks at #1 on both the Albums and Singles charts was Ed Sheeran, who spent five straight weeks at #1 in March/April 2017 with ÷ and ‘Shape Of You’, respectively.
