site information

Olivia Rodrigo Archives opened for browsing on May 30, 2021, shortly after the release of Olivia’s debut studio album, Sour. While celebrity fan sites have lowered in popularity with the rise of social media, the website moved forward with a clear goal – archiving and chronicling as much as possible for Olivia’s career.

The website was originally launched under the domain OliviaRodrigo.xyz. Why .xyz? At the time, all six (those with the hyphen between her first and last name, and those without) TLDs (.com/.net/.org) for her name had already registered, so .xyz was picked as a reference to Olivia’s clear cross–generational appeal to the Gen Xers who had grown up on Alanis Morissette, Millennials who had grown up on Avril Lavigne, and her home with Gen Z. Eventually, Olivia–Rodrigo.org became available to purchase, and the website was moved there as its permanent home. To benefit those who had links bookmarked, the website can still be reached via its .xyz domain, and can now also be reached at OliviaRodrigo.org.
